Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Master Control Chronograph Calendar Gets a Handsome Blue Dial

by Minh Phan

After introducing a black dial to the pink gold Master Control Chronograph Calendar last year, Jaeger-LeCoultre now unveils a fresh blue face on the steel model. The complete calendar chronograph is the star of the revamped Master Control line from 2020, a collection that traces its super young lineage back to 1992.

Blue is applied in two tones on the dial: vibrant sunray brushing on the main surface, and a lighter sky shade  for the minute track. Framed by stainless steel and accented with red details, it is exceedingly contemporary. Which is great because the Master Control is characteristically sober, so a touch of modernity gives it a ton of stylish energy.

The combination of chronograph and complete calendar (including moonphase) provides all the functionality you’d need on a daily basis. What’s more impressive is the harmonious organisation of information on the dial: the easy-to-read bicompax chrono counters never intrudes on the month, day, date and phases of the moon displayed along the vertical axis.

The robust features are driven by the in-house calibre 759, with up to 65 hours of power reserve. The Master Control moniker is also synonymous with superior quality, derived from Jaeger-LeCoultre’s strict “1,000 Hour Control” testing, with the collection being the first to undergo this rigorous certification process.

The Master Control Chronograph Calendar comes with two interchangeable straps — a steel bracelet and a matching blue leather strap — for confident versatility.
